The space

The house has two floors with wooden beam ceilings that communicate with an internal wooden staircase and an external stone staircase. It has two bedrooms and a living room on the 1st floor. The first (Gynaikonitis) has a private bathroom, smart TV, large wooden bed and is very spacious. The second room (Poulia) has a classic metal bed, in perfect condition, a large TV and is surrounded by a wooden wall, wooden furniture and a heavy wooden door that give it a special feel and atmosphere. The living room has a desk with a window overlooking the Cretan Sea, it also has a powerful sound system, mini fridge and armchairs for reading.

In the living room during World War II, 3 German soldiers slept as the ground floor space was requisitioned.
Now this space has two sofas that become beds, while there is also a small museum with relics from the family that lived there. There is also a large 55-inch smart TV where you can watch YouTube videos or play old electronic games (e.g. Ms Pacman).

In the kitchen, which is located in a separate room, you will find all the modern comforts with a traditional touch. It has a dishwasher, hand blender, small and large refrigerator, electric and gas stoves, kettle and everything else you might need for a good meal.

There is a small WC with a shower on the 1st floor and a regular WC on the ground floor that also has a washing machine. Both bathrooms have been completely renovated in 2024, they are in beautiful earthy colors with very modern plumbing systems. In the large shower on the ground floor I avoided putting glass or a curtain to give a sense of freedom and cleanliness. If the visitor wishes, a shower curtain can easily be placed.

Outside there are 2 paved courtyards.

The front with the main entrance that has a BBQ as well as a separate entrance to the kitchen where we can enjoy our breakfast with a view of the White Mountains.
The back yard that is suitable for eating after one in the afternoon under the shade of the air conditioner.

The back yard is surrounded by a high stone wall which ensures the absolute privacy of the visitors. It also has a fountain with a shower. Through a stone staircase we have access to the paved terrace where we have a wonderful view of many kilometers of the Cretan Sea and we can enjoy it either sitting on the comfortable seats or lying on the two sun loungers that it has.

The house is easily accessible from the main road of the village. It is located on a side street right where the cafe in Epano Kefalas is. Apart from the storage room and a cupboard with personal documents you will have access to all other parts of the house.
You will find as a treat fruit, croissants, orange juice and tsikoudia for your arrival. There will also be local olive oil and vinegar.
There is the possibility of having a mountain bike.

There is also the possibility of touring, at a reasonable cost, with a cousin’s boat to the unspoiled coasts of the area for swimming or diving with masks and flippers which are available from him.

Crete is a very large island with many beautiful places that combine mountains and sea. You will definitely need a vehicle.
